MILWAUKEE – Liphatech announced the purchase of all assets of Inert Gas Injection (IGI). IGI’s assets include its U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) labeled carbon dioxide (CO₂) along with the Eliminator Application Probe which together form a rodent control system for pest control professionals. pest control (PMP) without the risk of secondary poisoning, reports the manufacturer.
Currently named IGI Carbon Dioxide (IGI CO₂), the system, which is to be used only with the Eliminator, is specifically designed to kill burrowing rodents such as rats, ground squirrels and pocket gophers where they live. IGI CO₂, powered by Liphatech, provides PMPs and rodent control professionals with an EPA-registered alternative pesticide for controlling burrowing rodents, especially where secondary exposure is possible. IGI CO₂ is also approved for the fumigation of silos, warehouses, trucks, trailers, sealed railroad cars and cargo ships, and can also be used in organic fumigations.
“Liphatech’s acquisition of IGI, LLC, IGI CO₂ and the Eliminator allows us to continue to provide industry-leading solutions for PMPs that are different from other rodent control alternatives,” said Manny Martinez. , CEO of Liphatech.
A major benefit of IGI CO₂ powered by Liphatech is that when applied in confined spaces according to label directions, such as in rodent burrows, it poses no danger to rodent predators who may consume the rodents later died, Liphatech reports.
“The pest control industry is under constant scrutiny and scrutiny. Liphatech’s goal is to stay ahead of the changes; that is, providing PMPs with the innovative tools they need to control rodents and other pests, while significantly reducing the risk to non-target animals,” said Charlie Passantino, Pest Control Business Manager structural at Liphatech. “IGI CO2 powered by Liphatech is effective against species listed on the label and is a compelling option for PMPs looking for alternative methods of rodent control.”
IGI CO2 is colorless, odorless, tasteless and because it is heavier than air, it rapidly expels oxygen from rodent burrows, asphyxiating a burrow’s occupants.
“Liphatech has developed three active ingredients from the rodent control industry: chlorophacinone, bromadiolone and difethialone. We have always strived to provide PMPs with innovative and safe solutions for their customers’ rodent control needs. IGI CO₂ continues this tradition,” added Passantino.
