Liphatech announced the purchase of all assets of Inert Gas Injection (IGI). IGI’s assets include its carbon dioxide (CO2) along with the Eliminator Application Probe that together form a rodent control system for pest control professionals without the risk of secondary poisoning, the company says.

IGI carbon dioxide (IGI CO2), which should only be used with the Eliminator, is specifically designed to kill burrowing rodents such as rats, ground squirrels and ground squirrels where they live. IGI CO2 powered by Liphatech provides PMPs and rodent control professionals with an alternative EPA-registered pesticide to control burrowing rodents, especially where secondary exposure is possible. IGI CO2 is also approved for commodity fumigation of silos, warehouses, trucks, trailers, sealed railroad cars and cargo ships and can also be used in organic fumigations.

“Liphatech’s acquisition of IGI, LLC, IGI CO2 and the Eliminator allows us to continue to offer industry-leading solutions to PMPs that are different from other rodent control alternatives,” said Manny Martinez, CEO of Liphatech.

A major benefit of IGI CO2 Powered by Liphatech is that when applied in confined spaces according to label directions, such as in rodent burrows, it poses no hazard to rodent predators who may consume the rodents died later, says Liphatech.

IGI CO2 is colorless, odorless and tasteless, and because it is heavier than air, it rapidly expels oxygen from rodent burrows, suffocating a burrow’s occupants, Liphatech adds.

IGI CO2 powered by Liphatech is not yet registered or available in all 50 states.

Innolytics, in collaboration with Rizobacter Ecuatoriana C. Ltda., has received regulatory approval for OvoControl P in Ecuador. OvoControl P is a ready-to-use bait distributed on flat roofs with a mechanical feeder.

Human technology is useful for managing pigeon flocks in larger facilities without resorting to avicides or labor-intensive trapping programs, reports Innolytics. Rizobacter has coordinated the application with the Ecuadorian regulatory authorities and will distribute OvoControl P in the market.
